Hey, sexyfolk. I decided that I wanted to give you all some ideas for sexy (AFFORDABLE!) gifts for your partners, fuck buddies, girlfriends, boyfriends, fiances and fiancees or whatever you want to call the person who makes you go MMMM. We’ve got Christmas coming up, but mostly I just wanted another excuse to talk about sex toys! Since I can’t create just one set due to the many, many different orientations and gender expressions we all have, I decided to create seven categories for this FIRST post. The categories are as follows: Trans*/Queer, Lesbian, Gay, Straight, Self (Female), Self (Male) and Kinky. (ANYONE could use the kinky items, or most of the items for that matter!) All of these are somewhat beginner-style sets and I do sincerely hope I have included something that will suit your needs or at least give you ideas for your own sexy gift giving. Please feel free to offer me ideas about anything I could include in future posts. I hope the fact that I have each category “labeled” doesn’t make anyone uncomfortable- I’ll admit, it did feel a bit odd naming each set by orientation!
The little gift sets I put together were priced on Amazon.com and the photos are also from Amazon. Some prices may vary due to availability, but check around to all your favorite toy sites and see where you can find the best deal. (Side note: As you can see, most of these sets have some color coordination because I am just that obsessive about this work I do.)
To begin, I’d like to go with the trans*/queer set. This gift set includes a book of trans* and queer erotica called Take Me There as well as a glass butt plug by Doc Johnson. This book is highly rated on Amazon and erotica is a great way of sharing something sexy with your partner (reading erotica out loud to a partner can be very sexy). Glass toys? Glass lasts a lifetime if taken care of properly (and they can be boiled/sanitized which means you can share them with your partner!), but the best part about this toy is, of course, that anal plugs/toys create a LOT of sensation and can even cause orgasms all by themselves. Of course, plenty of lube is always required for anal play, and glass goes well with ALL lubricants, but silicone is the best suited for booties.
In the lesbian set, I put together a book of lesbian erotica called After Midnight as well as the Doc Johnson Gal Pal in purple. The Gal Pal is another version of the strapless strap on, just like the Fun Factory Share and the Tantus Feeldoe, but MUCH less expensive. This toy costs about $20 on average and it’s a great way to gauge your interest in this style of toy. It is a bit smaller than the Share/Feeldoe styles, but it’s sure to be a good time either way. This is made with Doc Johnson’s Platinum silicone.
In the gay set, you’ll see I’ve included The Ins and Outs of Gay Sex. Normally, I wouldn’t have chosen a “gay sex guide,” but this one was rated VERY highly by its readers and I figured that I have so much fun reading sex guides, this one would likely make a great gift. I’ve also included some Spartacus rubber cock rings! So many folks with dicks haven’t tried out cock rings and that is just a shame. They can be a lot of fun! Cock rings allow blood to flow into the penis but not out, creating a harder erection that is supposed to last longer. They can also cause more sensation!
In the hetero set, I went with good ol’ Moregasm by Babeland because it’s FABULOUS. Really, everyone should own it. The other item I’ve included in this set is the OGee by The Screaming O. This SUPER flexible vibe is similar to the We-Vibe II in structure and is worn the same way during intercourse (the external vibe sits against the clit and the internal part sits against the G spot) but it can be bent into any shape you want for whatever kind of play you want! This is a really interesting design and I really want one for myself!
In the kinky set, I’ve put together Midori’s Wild Side Sex: The Book of Kink and a Rear Envy butt plug/flogger. I was just telling my coworker yesterday that these two items would make the perfect gift. (Inspiring this post!) Midori is basically the queen of kink and she is a GREAT place to begin exploring your kinky side (she also has numerous other books on the subject that you should check out!) and this neat little dual-purpose toy is great for exploring what sensations you enjoy. Since we have one in stock at my shop, I can tell you that this is DEFINITELY a good plug for beginners- small and slightly squishy but firm. The flogger is just like any other rubber flogger except it’s less expensive! Again, with anal toys, be sure to use plenty of lubrication.
In the female masturbation kit, I chose the Slimline G vibe because I will never stop promoting it. It is a fantastic, CHEAP G spot vibe that is strong and perfectly curved. Next to it is Getting Off: A Woman’s Guide to Masturbation. This book is cute and has lots of great information.
In the male masturbation kit, you’ll find a Doc Johnson UR3 Super Sucker stroker. Strokers get a bad name! They are great toys for boys and have tons of interesting textures inside. I like this one because it doesn’t look like a hot pink disembodied vagina, but there are plenty of those available too. The other item in this set is The Multi-Orgasmic Man. Multiple orgasms are not just limited to women! With enough practice and patience, men can also enjoy the wonders of multiple orgasms, increasing pleasure in one’s sex life both personal and partner-wise.
For a perfect addition to ANY of these sets, get yourself/your loved one/your lusted-after one a bottle of Sliquid! It really is a fantastic lube- organic, clean, slippery, NON-STICKY!
I hope these ideas help you feel inspired to get creative in your sex life whether it’s with just yourself, a partner, three people or seven. Sex is fun, enjoy it. Please feel free to hit up my ask box with any questions or comments (anon is disabled but I’ll honor private messages as long as they are stated as such).
