Get to work on Day 1 of my period

- new girl has, for the second week in a row, done all of the opening duties, mine included.
- she makes me a drink as I walk in the door.

New girl, I like you.
Now, get outta the way so I don’t puke on you.

Healing is a choice. It is not an easy one because it takes work to turn around your habits. But keep making the choice and shifts will happen.

nubbederasers: I have a kind of personal question about anxiety disorders and you don't have to answer, you can also delete this if you want. I would just like to know if there is any way to make you feel better at all? Is there something that other people can do or say to help? Again, you do not have to answer if you fell uncomfortable in any way.

Well, although i don’t mind answering, I can only answer this from my own perspective.

For me, when I’m in anxiety-mode, it can feel like I’m drowning: I get short of breath, I can’t see pat the problem at hand, and it seems to be all-encompassing. Sometimes, having someone to tell me that I’m okay and not crazy can do a lot (because it feels like insanity) to validate me as a person, and sometimes I need to just hang out alone a while. Sometimes I ask my partner to pet my hair, or high me really tightly and that helps.

It depends on the moment, the instance, and who is providing the comfort. The most reliable tool I have is myself, so I typically jut do self-care to prevent anxiety attacks. Of course, I can’t prevent everything.

One of the very best tools I have for prevention is journaling. It helps me sort through my mind so nothing gets stuck in the system too long, you know? I can let it go and see what’s going on.

When all else fails though, wine & ice cream.

A good relationship is when two people accept each other’s past, support each other’s present, and love each other enough to encourage each other’s future. So don’t rush love. Find a partner who encourages you to grow, who won’t cling to you, who will let you go out into the world, and trust that you will come back. This is what true love is all about.
