Do you know whom you’re named after or what else your name might have been?

-RF

I, Jenna, was named after Bonnie Bedelia’s character in a 1972 made for TV movie called Sandcastles. I’m told it was about a guy who came back from the dead to thank the…

My mother wanted to name me after one of my grandfathers, and since neither of their first names worked, I got a last name instead: Callan. My middle name, Rhianna, is a compromise between Rose Rain, my mother’s first, stillborn daughter, and the song Rhiannon by Fleetwood Mac.
I’m named after a lot of people who aren’t alive anymore, including a Welsh witch.
I’ve been called Callie since I was born, but I had quite a few different spellings throughout childhood.

Wonderful realization while at work: the next time I hear from my father… It probably won’t be from him so much as about him.
It will be when he dies.

It’s a weird morning.

I really wish my hair didn’t take so fucking long to grow out

It’s been over a year and a half, and it’s grown maybe twelve inches. It’s naturally curly, superfine (if I make a bun it’s about an inch wide), and only has a few highlights. No real damage. I use a great conditioner and only wash it every couple days.

Anyone have any advice on growing out yr hair?
